Wushinanshan Gr
Type Locality and Naming
Aksu-Kalpin region. The Wushinanshan Gr was named by Zhang Tairong in 1977, which was published by Gao Zhenjia in 1985. The type section is located in the area of Qiaoenbulak-Sugetebulak of the southern hills of Wushi, south of Wushi County, Xinjiang Weiwuerzhu Zizhiqu (Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region).

Lithology and Thickness
The lithology of the Wushinanshan Gr is stable. It consists of three formations: The Lower formation, Yourmeinak Fm, consists of a suite of terrestrial glacial deposits (diamictite), which is roughly equivalent to the Nantuo Formation in Yangtze region. The Middle formation, Sugetbulak Fm, consists of purple-red sandstone. The Upper formation, Qigebulak Fm, is composed of carbonate rocks with clastic rocks.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The lower part of the Gr (Yourmeinak Fm) lies disconformable or unconformable on the underlying Qiaoenbulak Gr (Dongwu Fm).
Upper contact
The Group is disconformably covered by the overlying Early Cambrian Yurtus Fm (Urutus Fm), which consists of phosphatic sediments. This break between them shows a small hiatus.
